*rest in eternal peace & joy (I know you will), Dr. Katy Ha. As a freshman in college, you were the first person to teach me how to recognize, curiously witness and be kind towards my emotions. You taught me the gift of balancing discipline, fun and emotional expression while being witnessed & having purpose inside of community. Every morning you provided a safe and sacred space for us young, lost souls to gather and be present with the complexity of life! You taught me the essential importance of silence & listening. You taught me the power of humor and the spiritual wisdom of not taking oneself too seriously. You created a warm, joyful, “home” where everyone belonged- and did so with ease & grace- inside of a university gymnasium!
You were a true blessing to so many and I bow my head in respect.
